A fascinating journey in the heart of the Dolomites, between high peaks and green valleys
A spectacular two-day descent from the blue waters of Lake Misurina to Belluno, in a landscape made up of scenic mountains, deep green woods and mountain villages. The route initially follows the Dolomites Cycle Path, on the same route of an old railway, and then continues on the ancient Strada Alemagna. On the first day there is a minibus transfer from Belluno to Musurina, where the Dolomites mirrors in the waters of the lake. The bike tour starts from the lake and descends along the cycle path, surrounded by forestes, it reaches Cortina d’Ampezzo and finally Pieve di Cadore. On the second day, the itinerary continues following the Strada Alemagna along the wide Piave valley until it returns to the beautiful city of Belluno.

The day starts with a minibus transfer from Belluno to Lake Misurina: the bike tour starts right in front of the lake, where the peaks of the Dolomites mirrors on its blue water. After the first miles on slightly downhill road, the itinerary follows the bike path of the Dolomites, a spectacular route among high peaks and thick forests, until we reach Cortina d’Ampezzo, the pearl of the Dolomites. After lunch, the itinerary continues along the old train route through the small mountain village of Cadore until Pieve di Cadore, a town overlooking the large Lake Cadore.

The second day of the trip begins with an exciting descent along the old Strada Allemagna and we soon reach the Piave Valley. The road, once important, is now traveled by few vehicles due to the construction of the new state road: it is a pleasure to cycle surrounded by the mountains in the narrow Piave valley. The valley widens near Longarone, still guarded by the imposing Vajont dam. After lunch at a local farmhouse, the route follows secondary roads until it reaches Ponte nelle Alpi, enters Valbelluna and finally returns to the beautiful city of Belluno and to the Hotel.
