Rolling vineyards, castles and a lake among the mountains

Weekend in Franciacorta, the gentle hilly area between Lake Iseo and the city of Brescia. Our base is a farmhouse near Lake Iseo and from there we discover the region, among castles, ancient abbeys, prestigious cellars and historic villas. The first day we ride in the easternmost Franciacorta, an area dotted with castles and small villages, ending with a short walk immersed in the nature of the Sebino peat bogs. The second day we explore of the western sector of Franciacorta: after visiting the town of Rovato, we skirt the slopes of the verdant Monte Orfano until we reach the coast of Lake Iseo. The trip is enriched with a tasting of Franciacorta, the most famous classic method in Italy.
