From Bolzano to Verona, the safest and greenest bike path of the country
The Ciclopista del sole, the Sun Route (which in its full length goes from Brennero to Firenze) is already a classic: almost all flat with majestic mountains all around, safe and well signposted, with good bike grills where to enjoy a drink at open air tables and nice cities where to stop at. The path initially goes through a peculiar area of Italy: a region where the language, the history of the places, the typical recipes have a lot to do with the German tradition. Once you leave the mountains behind, no German language nor knödeln any more, but polenta and Valpolicella! Enjoy this easy itinerary with the satisfaction to reach by bike the nice cities of Bolzano, Trento, Rovereto and Verona.
ABOUT THE BIKE ROUTES You’ll mostly ride on bike paths. The road surface is paved; with very little gravel sections. The tour is mostly flat.

• If you choose to carry your luggage with you, your bike will be equipped with 2 rear bags. You can leave your trolley at our shop at departure. This is the most sustainable way to travel! • If you want to ride as light as possibile, add the daily van service of luggage transfer from Hotel to Hotel.

4.30 PM Van transfer of people, bikes and luggages from Itinera Bike.
Arrival in Trento and check-in.
Overnight in Trento.
Catch a local train from Trento to Bolzano (about 45 minutes).
(Note: train ticket is not included in the price.)
Bolzano is the beginning of the cycling route: in fact, today you will cycle from Bolzano to Trento.
Bolzano is a city rich in history, influenced by Germanic culture and surrounded by the Alps. Take some time to visit Piazza Walther and the narrow central alleys, or visit the museum where the Otzi mummy is kept.
The bicycle itinerary goes South along the verdant Adige valley and crosses immense fields planted with honeycombs and vineyards, always on a flat bike path. Along the way, the village of Egna, an ancient market town with beautiful streets flanked by arcades, deserves a visit. Finally we arrive back to Trento.
Second overnight in Trento.
Leave Trento and continue pedaling along the Adige river, in an area dotted with castles, towers and forts, such as the mighty Beseno Castle, which dominates the valley from the top of a hill. We recommend a small detour to visit the beautiful historic center of Rovereto, made up of narrow alleys permeated by a medieval atmosphere. The itinerary continues South, through the town of Ala, with its beautiful noble palaces, and finally arrives at the small village of Brentino Belluno, the destination of the day.
Overnight in Brentino Belluno.
The cycle path runs along the wildest stretch of the Val d’Adige. The valley becomes narrower, guarded by high mountains, the rarest towns and the valley floor covered with immense vineyards surrounded by woods. The route passes through the spectacular Chiusa dell’Adige, a canyon with high walls, and then leaves the cycle path and heads towards Lake Garda. In Bardolino we finally touch the blue waters of the lake, and finally we return to Verona following the Adige cycle path.

Within about a week, we’ll send you the contract with all the confirmed services.
4 weeks before the tour, the system will send you the link for the final payment (the balance). Once this last payment is done, we’ll send you all materials:
- The road book of your tour
- The link to install the navigation app on your mobile phone
- The final tour summary with all the booked services
- The activation of the basic insurance
- The invoice of your full payment (downpayment + balance)
As required by international legislation protecting the traveler, the traveler has the right to reconsider for a period of 5 days.
After 5 days from the down payment, it will not be refunded.
After the payment of the balance, you can cancel your booking with these penalties:
- Cancellation up to 15 days before departure: 50% refund.
- Cancellation later than 14 days before departure: no refund.
