Manerba and Isola del Garda

No bike this morning: let’s fasten our sneakers and go to conquer the Rocca di Manerba! We walk towards the promontory of Manerba, dominated by the remains of the ancient fortress: the view from up here is breathtaking and sweeps over much of the lake. A quick descent takes us to the edge of the high white cliffs that plunge headlong into the lake and we follow the panoramic path.

During the first day on the bike, we cycle through the rolling hills of Valtenesi, dotted with medieval villages dominated by castles, to the city of Desenzano del Garda. The itinerary initially heads towards Moniga, where we appreciate the small castle still inhabited, and then climbs up to the village of Lonato. We finally reach the lake near Desenzano. The return follows narrow streets between the hills that lead us to appreciate wonderful views of the lake from the Padenghe Castle and from Polpenazze.

The last day is dedicated to exploring the gulf of Salò and the elegant Isola del Garda.
We cross the beautiful cultivated and slightly undulating countryside of the promontory of San Felice del Benaco until we arrive, after an exciting descent, in Salò. Let’s leave the visit of the beautiful historic center until later: it’s time to embark for the Garda Island! There, accompanied by the Cavazza family, we visit the grandiose neo-Gothic villa and the luxuriant garden. Back to Salò, lunch and free time.

Returning to the hotel we follow the coast of the gulf of Salò and admire the view from above from the giant bench of San Felice and from the promontory of San Fermo.
