Verona and its river
Mills, stilt houses, water tolls, floods, stone and boat bridges, dams and canals, islands and buried rivers.
Verona grew up also thanks to its position on the River Adige, many events of its history are strictly linked with the river.
After a ride among levees and bridges, we reach the Canoa Club, we wear the lifejackets and we handle the paddles: a few words from the guides and then we sit on the rubber boat. The stream is light but it flows continuously (we will feel it stronger under the Ponte Pietra, where the river bends), we have time to admire the city. The roaring of the water covers the noise of cars and people.
Verona, you are beautiful from here.
