This bike holiday explores the large variety of landscapes of the Lombardy region. It starts from the village of Bormio, in the heart of the Alps, and after a scenic ride at almost 2000 mt altitude, continues slightly downhill along a bike path, until Tirano, where the Bernina Red Train leaves: that’s a fantastic journey towards the Swiss Alps! The itinerary continues on a bike path until the northern side of lake Como, then it is time to explore the charming villages of Varenna and Bellagio by ferry. The ride continues along the river Adda, an itinerary rich of history linked with Leonardo da Vinci, and finally gets to the Lombardy plains and Milano. The cherry on top are the unique food experiences and exclusive visits included in this trip.

Meeting in Milano in the morning and transfer to Bormio.
Lunch stop in agriturismo and cheese experience.
Once in Bormio, bike fitting.
Dinner and overnight in Bormio
In the morning, transfer to Arnoga (bikes and cyclists), at about 1850 mt
Ride on the old railway track towards the Cancano Lakes, a beautiful and flat ride on gravel road surrounded by a high mountain environment and great views.
Tour of the lakes by bike. Lunch in mountain hut. Beautiful road downhill (on tarmac) towards Bormio.
Once in Bormio, visit of a distillery that uses Alpine herbs for their spirits.
Dinner and overnight in Bormio.
We cycle along “Sentiero Valtellina” bike path, that flanks river Adda, going mostly downhill, always surrounded by high mountains.
Stop in Grosio for the visit of Nicola de Cesare “rock garden”.
Lunch in typical restaurant. Visit of a winery close to Tirano.
Arrival in Tirano, small city at the border with Switzerland that features a nice old center with stone-made houses and a beautiful Basilica.
Dinner and overnight in Tirano.
Day-off from the cycling as we experience a ride from Tirano to Santk Moritz (Switzerland) on the famous Bernina railway line, the highest railway crossing in Europe as it reaches the height of 2.253 mt above sea level, allowing passengers to view glaciers along the line.
The Bernina line is listed as a UNESCO Wrold Heritage Site.
It is possible to stop by Diavolezza and reach the height of almost 3000 mt with a funicular (mountain hut on top). After a stop in Santk Moritz, way back by train to Tirano.
Dinner and overnight in Tirano.
Today’s ride explores the bottom of the valley, always on a flat bike path, surrounded by mountains where apple orchards, vineyards and corn fields grow.
Lunch in agriturismo. The destination is Colico, nice village facing Lake Como.
Free dinner. Overnight in Colico
We cycle towards Val Chiavenna, a Valtellina side valley. The ride initially flanks the little Lake Mezzola and then follows a bike path at the bottom of the valley.
We stop at a Breasaola producer, where we see the production and taste their products.
After the tasting, ride up to Chiavenna, nice town at the bottom of the valley. Lunch in a typical “crotto”.
After lunch, short ride towards the beautiful Acquafraggia waterfall and visit of Palazzo Vertemate Franchi, one of the most beautiful buildings of the Alps. Way back to Colico by train, bike transfer.
Dinner and overnight in Colico.
Day-off from the cycling. Ferry transfer to Varenna, one of the most beautiful villages by the lake.
Possibility to visit Villa Monastero and its botanic garden.
Lunch in Varenna. Ferry transfer to Bellagio and visit of the village. Ferry transfer to Lecco.
Dinner and overnight in Lecco.
The day starts with a visit of the belltower of the main church in Lecco.
The ride follows the river Adda in a beautiful natural environment. The ride is short but with a guide we explore the places where Leonardo da Vinci worked. Lunch in Paderno d’Adda.
Today’s ride is Trezzo sull’Adda, a nice town embraced by the water of river Adda.
Possibility to visit the village of Crespi d’Adda, a “industrial village” built at the end of 19 century and listed as UNESCO heritage site, or the power station Taccani, a beautiful building that uses the power of river Adda’s water.
Dinner and overnight in Trezzo sull’Adda.
The last ride initially follows the river Adda and once in Cassano d’Adda, a charming town overlooked by a majestic castle, heads west towards Milano, following a beautiful bike path along a “naviglio”, a canal that connected Milano with river Adda.
On the way to Milano we stop in Gorgonzola, the town that gives the name to the famous cheese: there we stop for a tasting of gorgonzola.
We enter in Milano in a safe way, avoiding the big roads, always on bike paths or low traffic roads, until we get to the modern area of Isola and finally to the Duomo.
Last dinner and overnight in Milano.
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
