The first ride explores the wine area of Valpolicella, made of large vineyards and olive groves nestled among rolling hills, spotted with many elegant Venetian Villas and small villages.
Second overnight in Verona.
The route goes out Verona following bike paths until the picturesque hills of Custoza, then reaches the fairy-tale-like village of Borghetto sul Mincio. The itinerary follows a bike path along river Mincio until the fortified town of Peschiera del Garda, facing lake Garda, and finally gets to Desenzano del Garda passing by the iconic village of Sirmione.
Overnight in Desenzano del Garda.
The first part of the ride explores the countryside West of Lake Garda, made of large crops, until the city of Brescia: this city will be the overnight destination in a few days. A bike path leads to the heart of Franciacorta wine region and finally the route gets to Iseo, charming town by the lake.
Overnight in Iseo.
The day starts with a ferry transfer to Montisola, the mountainous islands lying in the middle of Lake Iseo. A ride along the coastline is the best way to explore it! After another short ferry transfer, the ride continues along the Eastern coast, passing by charming villages and bike paths overhanging the cliffs over the lake. In August it won’t be possible to visit Montisola by bike, the ride will be slightly different.
Second overnight in Iseo.
Today’s ride mainly explores the Franciacorta wine region. Initially, it flanks the Southern side of the lake on a dedicated bike path, then it slightly goes up and down picturesque hills rich of history, spotted with castles and ancient abbeys. Brescia, the final destination, is an off-the-beaten-tracks destination full of art treasures.
Overnight in Brescia.
The route heads back to Verona following a bike path that runs by a canal until the lakeside town of Salò. After a ferry transfer to Eastern side of lake Garda, the itinerary passes by Bardolino and after a few up-and-downs reaches a bike path that leads back to Verona.
